Micro hydro electric plant & biomass power plant

GGEPCL entry into the AFRICAN Continent was in the Year 2018 with the proposed acquisition of 76% equity stake into Novel Energy Limited, Rwanda

Novel Energy Limited has setup:

Gaseke Hydro Power Plant –

Novel Energy Limited has developed a 500 kW (0.5 MW) Micro Hydro Plant along the Gaseke River in the Gakenke District of Rwanda

The Project houses a 1 X 500 Francis Turbine and is expected to generate 3.3 million units of electricity per year

The Project is in the last phase with commissioning at the end of February 2017

This is a FONERWA & ESME Fund (World Bank) supported project

Rice Husk (Biomass) to Power Project –

Novel Energy Limited has developed a 70 kW Pilot Rice Husk to Power Project at the Nyagatare District of Rwanda

This Project will be the first of its kind in Rwanda based on Biomass Gasification Technology

This is a FONERWA supported project
